Santa ha Llegado! mission is to spread the joy of Christmas through holiday food baskets and toys. Bringing smiles to indigenous families in the rural regions of Guatemala.

Santa ha Llegado! was established in 2016 by the Menchu - Lopez family in Seattle, Washington. Inspired by the Christmas childhood stories of family members. As they reminisce on the beautiful Guatemalan Christmas traditions it also served as a reminder of the daily struggle of living in poverty. More than 75% of Guatemala’s indigenous population is living in extreme poverty. Throughout the years it has become very important for us to give back to the small rural communities we come from and give a voice to their stories.

Santa ha Llegado! delivers holiday baskets filled with essential food items and a small toy gift to all children in the family. In 2016 as our inaugural year, we were able to distribute 116-holiday baskets in three different rural towns. Last year we distributed over 200-holiday baskets in 6 different locations. On behalf of the foundation, Santa ha Llegado! also makes donations to local community projects and orphanages in these regions throughout the year. Our mission would not be possible without the amazing work of our volunteers in Guatemala and the generous donations from people like you.
